Miners have another good start to the year at the Bison Stampede Meet. The Junior High Team has First Meet in Bowman.



On Tuesday April 8th the Miners headed to Hazen for the Bison Stampede Meet. The Meet had 23 teams and over 700 athletes registered to compete. Miners picked up one new qualifier in girls Pole Vault and had 41 total new PR's at the meet. The Miner Girls took 4th overall scoring a total of 63 points. On the Boys side they scored only 4 points and placed 20th overall.


The girls started out the day well with having a new state qualifier in Hannah McGraw in Pole Vault. She vaulted 9' 0"which tied her previous record from 2 years ago. She heads back to the state meet after missing the state meet last year due to a late season injury. The Miner girls had two re-qualifiers in Addison Schepp and Malayah Williams. Addison ran the 100 meter hurdles in 15.54 seconds currently seeding her first in the state. Malayah had another great performance improving her mark to 37' 8" in the Shot Put and having all her throws be 35' or more. The girls also got placers in Rylee Yantzer (800,1600), Vienna Tolosky (1600), Addison Schepp (300m Hurdles), Elva Jasso (300m Hurdles), Addison Dale-Geiger (Javelin, Long Jump), Braelyn Hottman (Javelin), Emaley Keller (Javelin), Brooklyn Byrum (High Jump), Bailey Buchfinck (High Jump), and the 4x100 Relay team. The girls had a great day overall with the team picking up 24 new PR's as well.


The boys only had 2 placers on the day with Shane Schmidt in the Javelin and Anthony Hallett in the Discus. The boys had one boy finish just outside placing with Jonas Braun placing 9th in the 800 meter and the 4x100 relay team placing 9th. The boys team had a good meet for being as young and as inexperienced as they are overall. The boys had 17 new PR's come from the meet.



The Miners are back in action on Saturday April 12th with a home Throwers Meet in Beulah. This meet will be the first home meet of any type in over 30 years. The whole team will be back in action on Tuesday April 15th in Washburn.




The Junior High got a start to their season on Tuesday April 8th. The Junior High went to Bowman for Junior High meet. The Junior high had a great start to their season with the boys taking1st out of 14 teams and the girls taking 5th out of 14 teams. The boys had 5 event champs and the girls had 2 event champs. On the boys side Cooper Schepp won 3 individual events and set new school Junior High records in the 110 meter hurdles, 200 meter hurdles, and Long Jump. Cooper was also part of the 4x400 relay that won as well. The boys also won the 4x100 relay. The boys also had 3 second place finishes on the day in the 1600 meter, 200 meter hurdles, and Triple Jump. The Girls had 2 event champs on the day with Eleanor Cole in Shot Put and Jurzee Scheurer in Discus. Eleanor and Jurzee placed 1 and 2 in shot put with teamate Maci Kalvoda placing 4th. All 3 girls threw the shot put over 30 feet. Overall the boys placed in 10 of 17 events with the girls placing in 9 of 17 events.



The Junior High has another meet Thursday April 10th in Watford City.
